This is to help out a friend but don't they all say that though. He got a dodgy copy of the above game (copied) and it only worked on single player. Multiplayer would not connect. We both figured it was due to it being copied.Through Guilt and frustration he has bought an original copy and unistalled the old dodgy version. The problem is that it still will not connect, it prompts him to download an update and then fails to update itself to connect.I have pointed him toward his registry with jv16 power tools and said he should deleted any reference to Generals or ask it to remove obsolete entriesCan anyone suggest a way to get the original copy to work. My friend has tried to download the patches (I think there are five, if I m not mistaken) and each time the download is successful. He then goes to the d/load to check its installation and it fails to even read it. This happens with all the updates/patches. i think what has happen is that a file in the registry is missing the valid content with wehich to identify these patches and thus fails. As mentioned he used jv16 power tools and its reg tool came across several entries. He deleted a few of them and the computer warned on the last few that they shouldn't be deleted.
