INternet is back:) but hotmail doesn't load on any of the computers:(I'm posting this to internet help because before the interet went down hotmail worked fine, and after internet came back up I can type in login and password...computer thinks for a while, then displays "page cannot be displayed".This is for all the computers.I've done some research...and this is what I think may be affecting hotmail..but not sure.Is the mtu packet size affecting hotmail?http://kbserver.netgear.com/inquira/defaul...946#__highlightThe other weird thing is that the computer I manage the router from can't download any win/office updates..or activeX.Not being able to install activeX….affecting hotmail?I actually tried a mail.com account..signed up..tried to sign in..and same thing:(pc specspurchased june2004winXP homeI believe SP2 is installednetwork specsverizon dsl-->cable modem-->netgear router-->hubhas this already been addressed?does anybody have any ideas about how to solve?thanks.matt Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
scuzzman Posted July 21, 2005 Report Share Posted July 21, 2005 A few things here:1) Verizon DSL uses a DSL modem - are you saying you have both a DSL modem and a Cable modem connected, in the same network?2) Please post the results of the following tests:Go to Start -> Run and type this:ping hotmail.com > C:\ping_results.txtThen, do the same for the following 2 lines:ping 64.4.33.7 >> C:\ping_results.txtnotepad C:\ping_results.txtA notepad window will open, copy and paste its contents here.
