During the windows install I am getting the following error message:xxxError:Installation Failed: D:\i386asms. Can anyone provide assistance regarding this issue? Thanks
Scarecrow Man
Is your drive a master on the first channel? This is set by jumpers on the back of the drive.
Cedron_j
Is your drive a master on the first channel? This is set by jumpers on the back of the drive.I'm not sure as it is a laptop. I will see if I can access the hard drive when I get home.
Scarecrow Man
Hmm.. I do not think laptops have jumpers. Are you formatting before you install?
Cedron_j
Yes. I initially tried the XP upgrade install and received this message. The last time I tried the install that would reformat the hard drive to NTFS and still received the error message.
Scarecrow Man
Try formatting it as fat32. You can always upgrade to NTFS later
