Ive given up how to fine tune.........................

It was getting me paranoid how other 2000XP Athlons were running 1000 ~1100 plus on similarly spec'd machines...................

Not that I need much of an incentive in the paranoia dept......................

I agree with moon, Don't get caught up in trying to supertune at pcpitstop. If you have all checkered flags and your score is somewhere around 1/2 of your processor speed, your in good shape :D

Ah........ok, here it is again, just rebooted after sorting out my disk problem anyway and no more red flags....am a bit concerned though because after I ran the test this afternoon I had the yellow flag on my disks which said drive C needed defragging, which I did, but my newly defragged C drive still needs defragging by the looks of the test I just ran?????

Yeah but I defragged it this afternoon!!!! Can't need defragging again after just a few hours.

I think the name is quite apt........it is where my o/s sits and it is that *beep* that crashes on me when she decides to play silly buggers.... :(

{edit} how come bugger is allowed but *beep* isn't????

Inprofile...... I always defrag in safe mode, I have found that the best way to do it because otherwise I forget to turn off running programs then leave my PC thinking it is clunking away and come back an hour later and it is still on 10% because it keeps re-starting due to disk write!!

Moon, I just use windows to defrag normally, although I have been checking out suggestions in my other thread and might have a go at the disk keeper lite. I am going to run the defrag again when I get home from work and then re test and see what results I get this time....Madboy has been very helpful with a proggy that should speed things up. :)
