scuzzman
You need to make sure you can use the printer you have with Linux (meaning, there are drivers available). To do this, make sure CUPS is installed and cupsd is running (just run the command as root) then browse to http://localhost:631 - use your root username and password. Select "Add printer", then follow the wizard. You'll want to add a printer through Samba. To check if your printer is supported, check the database at http://www.linuxprinting.org
Alan2273
Thanks for that answer, when I installed Mepis it gave me the option to install the printer, which is a HP 950C. This was listed and it said the necesscary drivers were installed. As I am new to Linux can you tell me how to access Samba, and what to do when I get access.
