benb Posted September 6, 2005 Report Share Posted September 6, 2005 I have a Dell Dimension 8400 with a 17" 1704FPT LCD monitor ("UltraSharp", close as I can get). My graphics card is a ATi Radeon X300 pre-installed from Dell. When I access the Display Properties > Settings I see 2 monitors. One isDell 1704 FTP (Analog) on RADEON X300 Seriesand the second on isDefault Monitor on RADEON X300 Series SecondaryThe first monitor is cranked up to 1280 x 1024 @ 32 bits, which is the max that the first can handle (my monitors real max, and the one I change to make my monitor change)The second is a mere 640 x 480 @ 8 bits. The max is 1920 x 1440 @ 32 bits. The option to make the monitor the default is greyed, but I have to option to extend onto the desktop this monitor. Does anyone know whats up with the dual monitors?
