Guestt02 Posted September 25, 2005 Report Share Posted September 25, 2005 I was just surfing the net when this virus got detected by norton. I pressed okay to the popup. But another popup came. And another, and unlimited popups just kept coming. So I got help, and found this page. http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen...byteverify.htmlI followed the instructions, to turn off system restore. Live update. Run full system scan in safe mode. But after the scan finished, it picked up the Trojan.ByteVerify as well as 5 other trojans. It deleted the other 5, but couldn't access the byte.verify. It couldn't even Quaranteen it. I restarted computer, and the pop-ups started coming back. I've got rid of viruses like this before, but this just seems impossible. The norton popups are still coming. Guestt02 Posted September 26, 2005 Author Report Share Posted September 26, 2005 I ran A Squared overnight. And it didn't pick up 1 virus. Maybe because norton is always deleting them. But when norton deletes 1, another 1 appears. Example one of them is called tmp2D0.tmp And norton cant access it, So i think it quarantines it then deletes it.
