Trojan.ByteVerify

I was just surfing the net when this virus got detected by norton. I pressed okay to the popup. But another popup came. And another, and unlimited popups just kept coming. So I got help, and found this page. http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen...byteverify.html

I followed the instructions, to turn off system restore. Live update. Run full system scan in safe mode. But after the scan finished, it picked up the Trojan.ByteVerify as well as 5 other trojans. It deleted the other 5, but couldn't access the byte.verify. It couldn't even Quaranteen it. I restarted computer, and the pop-ups started coming back. I've got rid of viruses like this before, but this just seems impossible. Does anyone know anyways other than system restore to get rid of it?

Thanks,

If a² doesn't do it for you have a look at http://forums.spywareinfo.com/lofiversion/...php/t36591.html

It is at times like this that the advantages of having a full system backup become apparent. Do think about keeping a regular backup of your system when it is clean again.

Yeah when its clean, I will backup it. I cleared the Java Cache, but that didn't do much. The norton popups are still coming. Also do you know where I can download trend micro for free????

I might try A Squared now...

Sites that might help later:

I ran A Squared overnight. And it didn't pick up 1 virus. Maybe because norton is always deleting them. But when norton deletes 1, another 1 appears. Example one of them is called tmp2D0.tmp And norton cant access it, So i think it quarantines it then deletes it. But then another one just appears example tmp2D1.tmp
