XGrimorgX Posted October 5, 2005 Report Share Posted October 5, 2005 I've had this pc for about 2 years now and I've never had any problem with my partitioningC: 5GbD,E,F all 40 GbI have about 1Gb left on my C now and I have had 2 applications I tried to install who failed to do so because they said my hard disk was full. Both times I had the installationfile not on C and targetdrive not C as well so I was kinda furious because I have plenty space on the other partitions. I already minimized my SWAP-file on C and did some cleaning, but especially windows keeps taking more and more space on the drive. I know it can be solved by re-partitioning, but I'd rather find another solution as I don't have any sotware atm to do so.I was wondering if I could make installions possible without using the C drive by loading it to my RAM or to another drive. I've made some changes in Configuration -> system -> advanced -> local variablesOn top are my local variables, which I deleted and below there were the systemvariables where I changed the TMP and TEMP variables to a path on another partition.After that I managed to get 1 of the applications working, but the other (patch 1.03 from bf2) keeps giving same error.Any suggestions? The C: drive is the place where most applications get installed by default, where your documents folder resides by default, Internet and other temp files are kept, and of course where all system files must be. Naturally it gets fuller and fuller all the time.I would try two thingsclean the drive as good as possible (e.g. using Ccleaner)move pagefile and other system files to other drivesP.S.
