Program starting from start, program etc

Just finished a system restore and have found that some programs will not start as normal.

If I try the normal method I get the message

This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.

Exploring my drive and selecting the program I can get it to run.

Any ideas

Can you right-click on the items that do not start correctly, then select Properties? This should give you a clue where it is pointing to.

In addition to what Pat says, what was the reason for your System Restore, had something gone wrong? If yes, can you undo the restore? Even if no, it may be possible to find another way of rectifying the original problem.

I use System Restore when I have to, but have not found it to be reliable.

Properties shows the folling "C:\Program Files\Jasc Software Inc\Paint Shop Pro 7\"

I have an ongoing problem with the windows sounds and was tying a restore point before I loaded Sound Blaster.

This did solove the problem but caused issues with other programs so I undid the restore but still found some programs refused to load. In the end I ended up having to re-install most of the problem programs.
