AndyH Posted May 16, 2003 Report Share Posted May 16, 2003 In BIOS my friend’s sons H/D does not give him any “options” when Master/Slave etc are highlighted.Neither is his CD Rom or CD RW recognisedHe is in the process of reformatting a H/D and is having a few problems after choosing large disk support, create DOS partition etc.No luck with the new 60gig hard, so we put in a 10gig just in case the M/B doesn’t support the 60gig, although his last one was 30gig.We get to the stage after putting in his system start up disk and get this messageCDR101…not reading drive D….(drive D is his old drive).BIOS does not detect any of his drives, not even his CD Rom or CD RW……………..we have checked all cables and they seem ok.The only option in BIOS with anything on it is USER with “LANDZ” saying 8704 and under MODE is LBA…….nothing else.Boot sequence is set to A/C/SCSIAny ideas.I am also trying to ID his M/B.The string no is 144OLX W977 2A69JCOFC OO but M/B ORG can find no info nor Google. :blink: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It maybe unble to detect the HDD. Auto detect, etc will not work as a result...You would have to do it all manually by entering all the info for the drives."CDR101…not reading drive D" Sounds like a bad drive :(Can you try the drives in another computer?
