Its hosted by the same company that we use to register our domain name.Now we are considering changing host.Some questions:1. Is it also needed to transfer our domain name registring to our new host?2. I read something about nameservers that has to direct an ipadres to a domain name. When we change host, will we have to change something about those nameservers? If so, what do we have to change? (and how?)I hope I made myself clear, all this is quite new for me.Thanks! scuzzman Posted November 25, 2005 Report Share Posted November 25, 2005 You own the domain. Just set up a new account with a host, and add the domain to the hosting account. You will still own the domain, and they'll give you new nameservers to point at (though, you usually don't need to concern yourself with them). You'll have to inform the organization that does your DNS of the IP Address of the new server. Answer When the registration is finalised you own your domain name for the duration of the registration period and you can extend your ownership with a renewal. You can check the registration and expiration date of your domain names on a "whois" server that returns information on registered domains.
