The problem seems to be with the router drivers which wont load from the installation disk (BT Broadband). I have tried many times to reinstall the drivers but when I plug in the USB lead as instructed during the installation process the drivers fail to load properly. The problem may well lie in that there are registry entries which are not affected by uninstalling the software and the hardware but are affecting the loading of the drivers. I have tried cc but no success with installing the router drivers afterwards.Thanks for the ethernet suggestion. A PCI 10/100 Network Interface Card (NIC) will probably do the trick for you, if the 2-wire device you're connecting to has an Ethernet port you can plug into (I believe it does, but double check before buying a NIC).Please, please, please use Antistatic procedures while installing the NIC. They're very sensitive to static. A static spark that can't be seen, heard, or felt by a human can fry a NIC. When you get the NIC, if you plan to install it yourself, get an anti-static strap too. They're inexpensive and can keep you from destroying your NIC. You just put the strap around your wrist, and attach the alligator clip to a metallic part the PC's chassis.
