D4\/!d
Oh dear I have a problem.I have an ext hard drive (Maxtor 300Gig) which was divided into two partitions. I have used PM8 to merge the two partitions into one, and it's placed the second partition as a folder inside the first - as it does.Trouble is I cannot get access to the data in that folder. I am getting an access denied error message. I tried going into Safe Mode to give myself permission to use that folder, but coz I'm in safe mode my ext hard drive is not seen. How can I enable the ext hard drive in safe mode?Or, I should be grateful if you would tell me, how can I gain access to the data in that merged folder.(Xp Pro SP2)

D4\/!d
thanks bvw, however the issue is I have no security tab on the right click properties (as he said: they might be hiding - and they ARE) that's why I went into safe mode in the first place.

ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
One thing you did not mention: is it an NTFS partition? If so, can you right-click on the folder and check your security settings?Another question: the other folders on the original partition are accessible? D4\/!d
As far as I understand it, in XP Home you just go into Safe Mode and it's there. However for me in XP Pro it's still Hidden. I need to disable simplified sharing..!!Read all about it hereThanks for asking  Happy Christmas
