poppy1910
well did everyone have a good xmas? all meals went off without a hitch did they? or was the turkey overcooked, the brussels undercooked, and was aunty mary asleep in the trifle before 4??? or was that just my house??? no, we all had a whale of a time. i did the christmas dinner this year, and i cooked my heart out. everything was fine. great. cooked to perfection. all went great. honest. well, emmm errrr nearly. ok ok so i forgot one tiny wee thing. not really worth mentioning actually. it was just a silly oversight......................................i forgot the christmas crackers. yes i did. im a tube, i know. so what did i do? i hear you ask, as crackers are part of the whole tradition. well i did what any normal mature intelligent domesticated woman would do. i opened a packet of cream crackers and got my son to paint holly on them all, and set them at the place settings!!! then i collected as many hats round the house as i could find. which amounted to 22!! (for some girls its shoes, others its handbags, me its hats) and gave every guest one to wear all through the meal (party hats, you get it huh!!). after that it went with a bang, we played silly games as you do. (anybody played that interactive dvd game, bullseye??? how the piggin hell do you aim the dart???) everybody ate drank and was merry. except me, i was absolutely drop down drunk!!! i found a bottle of homemade raspberry gin i made in 2001, god it was tremendous!! so theyre you go, xmas a la chez poppy. so come on you lot, fess up. what was the little unplanned highlights that you dont actually want to share with us all. but will, heehee. come on, out with it!!! cheers xx

andsome
We went to our daughters for Christmas day. As usual the highlight just had to be seeing the kids faces as they opened their presents. Everything else pales into insignificance.
