Frenk made God
i have a problem with installation, when i try to install programs, i get error message: 'error reading setup initialization file', or 'the source file is corrupted', or illegal operation ...i don't no what to do, reinstalling my OS (Windows ME) didn't help, i tried to download few programs to fix my registry (i was thinkin that maybe registry is source of the problem), but i can't install them. is there any solution other than formatting my disk? -pops-
Are you installing over the top of your exisiting ME setup? You would be better off doing a clean install. That may mean reformatting the drive but you will then be certain that you are starting from a new Windows installation and any faults or errors remaining from old programs will be eliminated.Yes, it is more complex and will take longer but it will be better for it. -pops-
You are best reformatting all of the drive - removing old partitions as well and start (effectively) from a whole clean drive.
