Halsafar Posted January 5, 2006 Report Share Posted January 5, 2006 Okay i've tried:AVGEwidoNortonAvast Worm CleanerTrue SwordI ran sfc /scannow to verify windows protected files.Here is my problem:Avg, Ewido, Nortno, Avast all find NO worms at all. They find nothing and report my computer is working in proper conditions.TrueSword however keeps picking up everything from worms to trojans. Here is a list of a few:"Spoolsv.exe -- BAITAP-A Worms""Alg.exe -- DEMOTRY-B Worm""Norton ccApp.exe -- AKHER.D Worm""Norton ccApp.exe -- OBSORB Trojan"The norton ones appeared as soon as I installed Norton and ran True Sword.Here are my theories:Since I ran so many virus scanners and they pick up nothing I think True Sword is bs`n me into thinking there are virus's so I purchase their product... Seriously, Norton full version which came with the computer in question finds NOTHING... My other theory involves True Sword as being incompetent. Reporting virus like processes' which are not exactly a virus. Here is what I'd like:Some advice on what to do next?Methods to PROOVE there are some worms or trojans? But True Sword is not something you want on it!!But if Ewido and your AV have come up clean then that is a good sign, are you having any particular problems? Just some self-induced worrying thanks to True Sword.Zone Alarm shows no odd transmitions, all my apps run fine...Well one odd error, I've downloaded OpenOffice 3 times now and each time I try and run it I get the following message: "This download has been corrupted. This could have been the result of a damaged disk, bad download or a virus."It gives me a argument I can run the installer with to disable this check but says that method is not recommended. scuzzman Posted January 6, 2006 Report Share Posted January 6, 2006 Just so your verified, I think it would probably be best to go over to our HijackThis and Spyware Removal Support forum and Post a HijackThis log this way you can assure you're clean.About the OOo error: is that an OpenOffice error message, or a Windows one?
