Kingsley
I recently reformatted and reinstalled Windows XP Professional SP2, but whenever I launch Internet Explorer and other similar applications, I always get asked for the username and password to access the proxy server. However, there is no box to tick to remember the password as there usually is. I tried to add the user name and password to the Stored User Names and Passwords dialog but there was no add button, which as I read on Microsoft's site should have been. Is there any setting or method to show the "Remember my password" box?Kingsley

Kingsley
Control panel, user accounts, click on the user name and select creat password.Sorry, but I currently have a local user account with a password and that is not the issue. The problem is how to show the "remember my password" tick box in the authentication dialog, that I used to have before I reinstalled. By the way, this is the Microsoft web page I used to find where it said there should have been an add button to add stored usernames and passwords: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306541/EN-US/. Any help would be much appreciated.Kingsley
