Daisymay
We received a strange e-mail from Apple Online Store yesterday. It said that our order had been accepted for a 8.0 MP Digital Camera for the amount 779.00$, and our card would be charged in that amount. And to check the order in our profile by clicking on a link in the e-mail. We have NEVER ordered anything from this site, and consequently have NOT clicked on the link. Has anyone else experienced this (what I presume is a) scam, and have you any suggestions as to our next move. (We have e-mailed euro.apple and asked them to investigate but have heard nothing back yet) Weird or what?
-pops-
This type of scam is very common. DO NOT click on any links that may be in the message. Check with your credit card company that nothing unusual has happened on your account (and tell them why you're enquiring). There's not much you can do directly unless you want to get involved in lots of searching and general messing about finding the origins of the email and even then you most likely won't get very far.
