Where can I download dictionaries for Word?

I am using Windows XP Home. For spell check in Word I have only the old German dictionary, which is not longer valid. On my other PC, which runs under ME I have already the new dictionary. Can I download the new dictionary somewhere or is it possible to transfer the corresponding file from one PC to the other. Where can I find this file. Please advice – thanks.

The method depends on your version of Microsoft Office. If you are using Office 2003, you can use this tool: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en

I was unable to find a means to install a dictionary for any other version but 2003.

If you run OfficeUpdate (Check for Updates), can you get a dictionary update from there? If not, you may need to transfer it from your new system. But I am wondering - how did you get the new dictionary on your new system?

Thanks for your replies. I have Word 2000 on both PCs. On the older one is the newer German dictionary - I don't know why. In oder to copy the files, I would like to know where to find them on the PC. Can you help me?

I don't know which files are the dictionaries. I have English, German, and French installed, but with a short check I couldn't locate them. But I'm sure we can eventually find them.

But first, did you run OfficeUpdate ? I think if there is a newer version of the dictionary available, it should be updated through OfficeUpdate.
