trackrat
Is there any way to access safe mode by running a command from within Windows XP Home.My Nephew has to access safe mode to follow Nellies instructions for a HJT log and F5 & F8 will not work at start up.He has a USB keyboard so I told him to go into the BIOS but he cannot select anything with the arrow keys also the BIOS page starts with CMOS Setup up and I am unfamiliar with this BIOS. trackrat
Thanks bvw,.Vog answered it on another forum (pops favourite  ).If anyone is interested, click start / run/ type msconfig / click on BOOT.INI / tick SAFEBOOT / restart computer and it will start in safe mode.To go back to normal mode follow steps to access BOOT.INI then untick SAFEBOOT and restart computer. Scarecrow Man
You can also modify the boot.ini file, and add the switch, /safeboot, but this is a bit more difficult.
