Hi, i'm pretty new to all this pc stuff, only use it occasionally. The problem is, in November, I downloaded a picture off the net to have as my wallpaper, and ever since, my pc hasn't worked properly. I've been into properties, desktop, customise, web etc, and I can not delete the wallpaper I installed, well it goes, but then comes straight back. Plus, I can't change my wallpaper, all the wallpaper options are just froze, I can't do anything...Please help!!

I've run spybot and Adaware, Spybot found nothing, Awaware i'd already run earlier, found a few things...I also ran AVG earlier, and I had 283 Trogans!! I'm actually not at home at the mo, i'm at my sisters and i've fetched my tower unit with me, so i'm running this on her monitor, but for some reason, I cant run it normally, i'm running it in safemode at the mo,don't know if it's anything to do with the fact that I use a TFT monitor at home??? i've not actually used my PC since november, because I couldn't connect to the net at home...but my sister has run AVG etc, and got rid of loads of rubbish. I've also run Ewido and found lots of spyware. I'll go do a hijack log now..

P.s. this was a brand new pc on the 19th Nov 2005, i'd only had it running for a week, then it wouldn't let me connect to the internet.

I hate this spyware rubbish. We've all been there, A goldmine of Spyware and Adware will be found in 'Free Wallpapers' and 'Free Screensaver'. A good tool that finds HI-Jackers, Spyware and adware etc is ( Bullet Proof -SPyware Remover) its not free but worth every penny. Good luck on your removal, dont forget to have a poke round in your Common Files folder. ;-).

Good luck. Need any more help give me a PM

I know it is a bit old now but Eric Howes regularly reviews the software on his Rogue list and that one is still there... so it must be there for a reason as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry if I seemed a little harsh... I just have a bee in my bonnet about rogue applications at the minute! :flowers:
