When I attempt to view or post a topic I am getting an error.

Some times the topic displays and it shows me as a Guest and I cannot post to that topic other times I just get the error:-

Any Ideas I have not changed anything and it has only started happening today. Thanks.

The joke board is the only one protected.

Guest trying to view the board will get the error you have seen, so this points to a cookie problem.

I suggest clearing cache / cookies and trying again.

I go to http://forums.windowsforum.org/index.php and get automatically logged in; my preferred 2005 skin is shown.

When I go inside a forum, e.g. this one, I arrive at http://69.46.16.95/forums/index.php?...&showforum=4, and the 2006 skin is shown. I am logged in as 'Guest', and I get the error when trying to post.

Means I have to login here as well, and then I get the 2005 skin, and I can post. And naturally I have to exempt the 69.46.16.95 cookie from being ccleaned.

Try and put up with it for the rest of the day.

I shall revert the IP address to the domain name in the config files in about 10 hours at which point everyone should be able to access the forum via the normal address. This should then resolve the problem.

No problem, I have already solved it, and others could do the same. I ran crap cleaner to empty everything, then logged on again, entering my password etc. I opened crap cleaner, and selected OPTIONS/COOKIES, and dragged the numbered URL across to the right hand side so the this cookie would NOT be deleted. No problems now, even after a restart.

I tried this originaly but it didn't work, first I had to change my URL alias to the new Numbered URL

then clear the Cookies. re enter the forum and log in with my password, then open Crap Cleaner and move the new Numbered URL to save cookies area. everything appears to be OK now.
