Jookia Posted February 8, 2006 Report Share Posted February 8, 2006 I have an AC'97 sound card and i fiddled with the sound effects in soundman and reset them back but it keeps echoing and half my songs make the background music go over the song so its hard to hear words cuz of music infront of words, i uninstalled and re installed my card and it still does the same thing...any suggestions to set it back to normal? As RealTek update and change the sound manager on a regular basis, it's hard for me to say exactly where you should look in your version.If I open my RealTek sound manager it looks like this;If you look at the Environment settings, I have "none" selected in the drop down menu as I don't want sound effects. Have a look in your sound manager and you will probably have a sound effect enabled and this is causing the sound distortion/echo effect. Just change it to none.HTH, dagwoood. Scarecrow Man Posted February 8, 2006 Report Share Posted February 8, 2006 I had the exact same problem after fiddling with my mothers On-board sound card, which was also AC'97.I ended up re-installing the software, and everything was fine. dagwoood Posted February 8, 2006 Report Share Posted February 8, 2006 The latest RealTek drivers can be downloaded from here http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4400.htmlFirst you need to uninstall your current ones.
