-pops- Posted February 15, 2006 Report Share Posted February 15, 2006 Things don't look good on this.I've known it happen more than once where a computer has cut off due to a power cut and, the Windows was arranged that it should restart on resumption of power. This is not a good idea as often, a power cut is followed by a second (possibly short lived) one. This just gives enough time for the computer to get going again before it is shut down, most probably permanently, by a power surge and the second removal of power.In each case I have seen, the only remedy was a new motherboard and possibly other components. What i did was:Open the case and unplug the CD-ROM and FLOPPY. See if it boots.IT BOOTED ! yayElse:Check the motherboard over for any visual signs of damge. ____________________________________________________________If you require a new motherboard, i would strongly suggest ordering one from Ebuyer. They currently have some great deals on, and hopefully the CPU isnt fried, if so they sell them too. Good luck.
