Changing that letter to another one can cause many problems with Windows.You can change drive letters by RIGHT clicking "Control Panel", select "Manage" then "Disk Management". You will see a graphical view of the drives in your machine. If you then RIGHT click on one of the drives you will be able to change its letter but BE VERY CAREFUL - you may find that your system cannot find the drive you have changed and therefore will not work. -pops- Posted February 16, 2006 Report Share Posted February 16, 2006 Perhaps you can't change the letter of the "C" drive in XP - it's not a thing I've ever tried to do as I know the consequences. I have exchanged letters of other drives though - by the method already described but, be careful you don't change the letter of any established drive otherwise it will be effectively lost to anything that tries to locate it by its old identification. You can if you wish give it a different name such as "Jim's C:/ drive" or "Lin's C:/ drive" by left clicking on your "My computer" Icon, right click on the C: drive and choose "Rename" just as you would for any drive /folder/desktop Icon.At the moment it will probably say "Local Disk (C:)" change that to, "Anything Disk (C:)" :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
