Alan2273
He has just replaced his motherboard after all the trouble with the Abit board and when he switched it on he got one long beep and two short beeps. In the BIOS beep codes this says there is a video card problem, ( he is having to use my Linux box again  ), as there were no BIOS beep codes listed in the Asus manual. If the graphics card is dead, he is certainly having some bad luck, as he only built it twelve months ago and untill a week ago it was running like a dream. And my little Shuttle just keeps going.
r4may
What Rotten Luck. . . Maybe he should have got a motherboard kit from Novatech with an 'On board vidio' to get going. .
doug
Ah, what if. When things go wrong how many times we have all asked that question. I've got my - very valuable - spare S3 (4MB) card available. Any good?

Alan2273
Trackrat says thanks for the offer Doug, but he is taking the computer in to where he brought the motherboard so he can get them to try another PCI-E card, to see if the graphics card is at fault or the motherboard. So one way or the other it will get sorted monday. Alan2273
A few weeks ago I transfered my Shuttle motherboard into a new Shuttle case only to find there were no stand off`s for the ICE cooling system, as they use a different system now.So till I could get a drill and tap the size I wanted I had to use his computer for two days. Now he is using mine and yes he is getting withdrawal symptons :D , but he will have to wait.
