Peter M
I have a high definition 7.1 surround sound card, and I want to hook it up to speakers. I am quit confused as it has only 4 ports, rear, side, c/sub and audio in and out. I dont know what I need to buy to hook up my speakers, I have normal surround sound speakers that u click in two wires into. any help would be apreciated. -pops-
Was there no manual supplied with the card?If not, go to the manufacturers website and obtain one from there. The surround sound setups I have ever dealt with (admitttedly not 7.1) utilise either a digital or an optical output to an active speaker system and it is that which organises all the multi-speaker feeds. Peter M
it did come with a manual but all the manual says is: connect the speakers to the ports as colour coded.
-pops-
OK. Do you have a set of suitable speakers? You shouldn't just plug in any old speakers that you happen to have around.Have a look at http://uk.europe.creative.com/shop/product...46&product=721& or http://uk.europe.creative.com/shop/product...46&product=542& for an idea of what you need.
