COMPUTER 7.1 SOUNDCARD SETUP

Recommended Posts

I have a high definition 7.1 surround sound card, and I want to hook it up to speakers. I am quit confused as it has only 4 ports, rear, side, c/sub and audio in and out. I dont know what I need to buy to hook up my speakers, I have normal surround sound speakers that u click in two wires into. any help would be apreciated.

Was there no manual supplied with the card?

If not, go to the manufacturers website and obtain one from there.

The surround sound setups I have ever dealt with (admitttedly not 7.1) utilise either a digital or an optical output to an active speaker system and it is that which organises all the multi-speaker feeds.

OK. Do you have a set of suitable speakers? You shouldn't just plug in any old speakers that you happen to have around.

Have a look at http://uk.europe.creative.com/shop/product...46&product=721& or http://uk.europe.creative.com/shop/product...46&product=542& for an idea of what you need.
