davidj23
Hi allI currently have windows xp running on a computer but I want to install win2k aswell. When I run the disk at boot nothing happpens and if i try to run the disk from the desktop it tells me i'm running a more upto date version of windows and cannot continue. Any suggestions how i can install this so i can run both operating systems?Any help would be much appreciated.
Alan2273
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_repair_2k.htmAlso have you made sure that CDRom is first boot in the BIOS and not the hard drive?.
r4may
Assuming that you require a 'Dual Boot' operating systems :-I believe you need to install win2k first and then XP. ( but I may be wrong in this.)Also it is not normal to install an O/S from the desktop but from a boot floppy or CD.Whoops I just read Alan2273's link and it appears I was incorrect Sorry. -pops-
Are you sure you want to do this?I don't think that Win 2K can do anything useful or important that XP can't.
