z1wilczyk Posted March 5, 2006 Report Share Posted March 5, 2006 To give you a little background, I just got an iPod but was running Win 98 and it was a touch sketchy so I upgraded to Windows 2K. Now I have a full hard drive and system pop ups that say my registry is corrupted and what not. I think the pop ups are bogus, because the messages are misspelled and they suggest different registry cleaners to go buy. So can anyone start me on the right foot to see what I should do? Get rid of some dispensable stuff from your hard drive and then download Crapcleaner (google for Ccleaner). Then run it, of course. You say you have just got an iPod. Some time ago it was claimed that many USB devices came to the customer bearing nasties. Should of upgraded to xp.Win2K is a very stable and reliable OS, and it uses less resources than XP. On an older machine (that was running 98) 2K may be much more suitable than XP.
