Scarecrow Man
It appears as though ZoneAlarm does not support Avast!ZoneLabs Forum - Anti-virus Monitoring doesn't detect my anti-virus software! Why?

andsome
I am VERY happy with Zone Alarm. It does not recognise my Nod 32 AV, but that's no big problem.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Lavasoft is relatively new in the firewall business; their product was just released in November last year.ZoneLabs have had ZoneAlarm for many years; it is currently on version 6. I have had it for many years (since version 3), and I trust it fully. Lavasoft has lost my trust (with another product), and I have uninstalled all their products.[Edit] Looking at the number of downloads at Download.comLavasoft counts 41,000 downloadsZoneAlarm counts 39 million! andsome
Zone Alarm appears to check virtually everything when first installed, and can seem irritating. However as it keeps asking for permission for various actions and you agree, and tick REMEMBER THIS ACTION, so these warnings become less, and it just gets on with it's job quietly. A great program as far as I am concerned.
Geek-Squad
Looking at the number of downloads at Download.com * Lavasoft counts 41,000 downloads * ZoneAlarm counts 39 million!you got a point there but remember that LAvasoft just came out and zone alarm has been out for like gosh I dont even recall how many years.... ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
you got a point there but remember that LAvasoft just came out and zone alarm has been out for like gosh I dont even recall how many years....That is exactly the point I was trying to make. Lavasoft has no experience in the field of firewalls, and they have yet to regain public trust after the Ad-aware debacle from last year. It does not recognise my Nod 32 AV, but this is not important.
