Colwyn
This phenomenon strikes me as really weird. I've got a folder to which I direct all downloaded files. The files aren't aren't showing up in the designated folder. But when I <search> a missing file, it shows up with the address of the designated folder. And I can copy it manually from <search results> to that folder. When I do so, I don't get the 'this folder already contains...' message. It's irritating to have to keep copying downloaded files from <search results> to the folder they're supposed to be in. But I don't understand how this situation is logically possible. On the face of it, the missing files both are and are not in that folder. Someone please make sense of this.
Scarecrow Man
Is it possible the files are being hidden? You should try downloading to a different folder to see if the phenomena occurs.
andsome
Surely the easiest way is to open Windows Explorer, click on drive C and elect to create a new file, and call it 'My downloads'.
Colwyn
Seleting/creating a different destination folder doesn't affect the problem.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Ok, maybe you have to get a little bit more specific - what file types are you downloading, and are they possibly hidden?
