trackrat
I have just lost my internet connection, i tried ipconfig /renew but no go.It is a D-Link wired router, is there any way I can test it.I disconnected the router and plugged the lan cable straight into my computer and everything is back to normal.I need the router as my brother runs Linux on his computer and we share the blueyonder broadband. So is there a way to test the router, or is it a case of just buying a new one?. dadyassa
Not sure but if you disconnect it then reconnect, I think it should set itself again.

Yeah Ano
Just wondering if when you have the router connected - can you map to its ip address ( start - run - \\"ip addres of router" and check whether the router says it has in internet connection? On my Belkin wireless G router, if i map to it, one of the options is to reset it - could give that a go. trackrat
Excuse my ignorance but how do you log into a router.I brought this router about 14 months ago and it has worked faultlessly till yesterday.
Chris
For D-link routers, i think...Open IE and type: 192.168.1.1 into the address bar and press enter.
trackrat
Chris you are a life saver, the actual address is 192.168.0.1.Because I had changed the motherboard and processor and done a fresh install of windows I never thought to check the MAC address. So I got the manual out and found the address and used the set up wizard and found I had to clone the MAC address and bingo it is working perfectly again.Strange though how I just plugged it in after the rebuild and it worked for 8 days.Once again thanks.
