I have an engineer who forwared this complaint to me.I found that I was forced to end the AutoCAD program many times when I pulled out more than 2 CAD files at a time. The reason I did that was I could do cross reference and share the database for the dwgs, so I do copy pieces of drawings, keep minimizing and maximizing the drawings quite often every time. When the CAD program is crashed, I need to click “END NOW” to close the program, and then restart AutoCAD. Once you open the CAD program again, all the files you did not save last time were as *.sv$ files. Then, I have to do “save as” for organizing those files I lost. I guess that there are some conflicting programs for my AutoCAD program in PC.Any help will do thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Scarecrow Man Posted March 24, 2006 Report Share Posted March 24, 2006 Running multiple instances of CAD may cause it to crash. You can open multiple dwg files in the same window.Just load the first one, and keep it open. then go to file open and load the second one. You will notice in the top right hand corner, near the minimize, maximize and close buttons, but inside the window, are another set of these buttons. These buttons corespond to the file currently opened. If you click the restore button, it should shrink, revealing the projects open behind it. You can have several dwg files open at once.
