Sean
All software that attempts an outgoing connection is rejected. The software will perform normally however will display 'errors' in their queries, or simply will not connect. Software such as:FTP ProgramsKeyword AnalyzersSEOSurfEven photoshop trying to verify licenses...1st thing that came to my head, windows firewall or 3rd party...I disabled BOTH and the problem is still apparent, what could be blocking the connection?Thank you! ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Hello, and welcome to the Windows Forum. It is usually the firewall that blocks access to the Internet. Since you have disabled them, it seems to be a different problem. (I hope you were not running Windows and 3rd party firewall at the same time; it could have negative impacts).Next thing that comes to mind is some malware infection. QuestionDo you have antivirus software?Do you have antispyware? Are they up-to-date, and do you scan regularly? If all is Yes, then you should run HijackThis (see Instructions for HijackThis!), and post the log in this forum. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I just looked at this post - could it be that you have a hardware firewall as well?Another thing to look at is the Event Viewer under Applications; can you see anything around the times when you tried your application connects? Sean
I never have windows firewall enabled, although I tries to make me enable quite often.I think I do have a malware infection...but the only way to get rid of any of those is to reinstall windows? [according to an article I read recently]I have avast antivirus and it updates regularly.Sean
Sean
addition: I have a router. So I believe I have a hardware firewall. I do not remember my routers ip or even the user info...There are other computers on the network, and they all work fine. I got my new computer a month ago and I have been having this problem ever since I introduced it to the connection.

nellie2
If you have been having this problem since you connected your machine to the network then maybe it's a network problem!Oh and I don't agree with the statement that the only way to get rid of malware is by a format and re-install, it all depends on what you are infected with.
