eyespy Posted January 7, 2003 Report Share Posted January 7, 2003 Hi all ! I know that someone will have an answer !! :D Just purchased an HP digital camera and dock. No support whatsoever for the Dock at HP websupport. When I place camera on the Dock for a battery charge, a green light on the Dock flashes for about an hour than stops. What does this mean ? Batteries charged ? Than I checked how much the AA Ni-Mh batteries were charged and they were only up to half !! :angry: The batteries are brand new !! At that point, the Ni-Mh AA batteries were only half charged. This was the initial charge !! bvw Posted January 7, 2003 Report Share Posted January 7, 2003 When charging Ni-MH batteries for the first time after long-term storage, deactivation of reactants may lead to increased battery voltage and decreased capacity, (which causes premature termination of charging). Becuase batteries are chemical products involving internal chemical reactions performance deteriorates with prolonged storage. This is normal in Ni-MH batteries. Resolution:The first-time charge of the KODAK EASYSHARE Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery Pack should take approximately 2 hours. If the Camera Dock light turns green, indicating a full charge, in less than 2 hours, repeat the charge cycle as follows: To begin charging, place the camera on the KODAK EASYSHARE Camera Dock. Refer to your camera User's Guide for details. When the charge light turns green, remove the camera from the dock and place back on the dock after several seconds. Repeat steps 1 and 2 three to four times or until the combined charge time is 2 hours. I guess the half charge is a problem with a few different digital cameras using Ni-Mh batteries. These camera and battery companies should really provide better documentation with their products. No battery preparation directions or FAQ's came with my camera dock or my Ni-Mh AA batteries !! :angry: Again...thanks to all for kind and helpful responses !
