SpiritualGorila
I have set up my network successfully, but how would i go about using ad hoc mode from my computer downstairs that is wired to my router and my computer upstairs that is wirelessly connected. The one upstairs has a thing to connect ad hoc with the wireless program thing that came with netgear, but the downstairs one i dont know how to go into that mode.I have the 108 mbps wireless router from netgear
homecomputeraid
I recommend against ad-hoc mode if you have a wireless router unless you have a specific reason to use it. You should use your wireless router. Why did you think you needed to use ad-hoc mode? (Ad-hoc means computer to computer instead of computer(s) to router). D4\/!d
... to transfer files from my downstairs computer to my upstairs one...I too have a (Netgear) wireless router upstairs. :)It would be handy to know how to transmit files from one PC to the other. At the moment I am using an ext hard drive and carrying the files up and down stairs..!!
homecomputeraid
Ad-hoc mode is not the way to go about this. Can the two computers see each other? Can you see them in My Network Places?
