catgate
http://science.monstersandcritics.com/news...d_space_programIt may cost more that a hairdresser, but it would be just as futile a gesture.
andsome
We could have say a team of five spacemen. Then we could have a government department with four hundred civil servants. A team of five managers could be set up each on £200,000 per annum, plus of course, index linked pension schemes. We would of course also need a training centre, with all the latest equipment, and a team of managers to run that. Obviously we would need local management teams as well. Altogether it need not cost more than a few billion. Sounds like a good idea to me. :D :D :D

catgate
I think you have gone a bit overboard, andsome. I was thinking along the lines of getting Valerie Singleton out of retirement, giving her a few empty cartoning items and some her old favourite "sticky backed plastic", along with a grant from the Millenium Lottery Commision Slush Fund and telling her there was an empty seat calling her in the House of Lords.
