jpln
I am attempting to make an audio connection with MSN Messenger, but get screeching when trying to hear the other person.I have tested my hardware by doing this;Control Panel\Sound and Audio Device Properties\Voice\Voice Recording\Test Hardware.......... the recording element is fine, but when I come to test the playback, there is a screeching noise. What things do I need to check to stop this happening? I have checked all my settings with a friend who can hear me perfectly over MSN Messenger.I have Norton Security Suite installed. Is this anything to do with the problem? Thanks in advance. -pops-
Screeching noises are often due to acoustic feedback. This occurs when a microphone picks up sound emanating from speakers. The sound builds up and up with each feedback cycle until the amplifier is overloaded.Try turning down the speaker volume and/or moving the microphone as far as possible away from the speakers. r4may
I put my microphone in front of my speakers and baffle it so it is directional and only picks up sound from the front.Works OK on Yahoo Messenger.
