Remote Desktop

Recommended Posts

Forum. I'm setting up a Windows 2003 server. I need some assistance with setting up remote desktop so that two XP Pro laptops can access the files on the server via remote desktop across WAN links.

Can anyone point me to a good reference site ? Basically I will have a home router with the server plugged into one of the LAn ports and a static IP provided by the carrier (Comcast).

Do I need to perform any port forwarding on the router, most likely the latest Linksys model, or when I remote desktop to the static IP will the router simply pass it through to the Windows server ?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Best.
