It seems to me like someone is hijacking my computer but I'm sure that's an extreme thought. Still....it doesn't look good. I religiously scan my computer weekly and all scans come up clean. I don't recall putting this SID there. Other folders turn up without this SID. I tried removing it but I get an error telling me that "My Shared Folder" is inherriting this from the parent folder (C drive in this case). cozofdeath Posted June 15, 2006 Report Share Posted June 15, 2006 I've had this problem quite a few times because a friend of mine loves creating accounts that he shouldn't be and when I delete them sometimes I get the SID crap. Any SID after 1000 is a user so you probably deleted a user at some point to make this happen or broke a trust. As far as removing the old SID you can try this tool, SubInACL. Its a very powerful tool with tons of options so this page tells you exactly how to remove the old SIDs. Hope this helps as I have never tried to remove the old SIDs they usually just went away.
