Windows XP\Saving My Updates!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm planning to do a re-format of my Hard Drive and wondered if there was anyway to save all the Updates,Security Fixes including SP2 that I've accumulated to save me having to go through the same procedure of updating when I re-install XP?

Hmmmmm?

Is there....?

I wait with bated breath

Your best bet in my opinion is the save service pack 2 and either slipstream it into the installation or afterwards. I don't think you can save all the fixes individually, and even if you did they probably have to be installed in the right order and you would need a tool like qchain to do it. If your going to slipstream a good/easy tool to use is nLite, but there are many others as well. With nLite you can do a lot to your installation like add programs to it like firefox or AVG, remove things you don't want like IE or messenger, pick what update fixes or drivers you want included, make a bootable unattended installation cd.....etc. Hope some of that helps. :D
