This is not documented anywhere (I know of)...However, I found this articlehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/158675/and although this is for NT 3.5 and 4.0, it still seems to be true for XP. Going into HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager, right-clicking on BootExecute and select Modify, I getRemoving the first line like thisand reboot; the CHKDSK is not run.Interesting - I never knew how the boot process knows what to execute. This is not documented anywhere (I know of)...Ahh heck i don't know..? :P All i know is that when i couldn't get chkdsk to stop scanning at boot up thats what i did.. :D It works as far as i remember..
