user1984 Posted July 14, 2006 Report Share Posted July 14, 2006 OK, I do not want windows to manage my updates. I would prefer to manage updates on my own. When I turn auto updates off, every time I restart one of my computers, a balloon comes up in the sys tray telling me that my computer is at risk and....yada yada yada. trackrat Posted July 14, 2006 Report Share Posted July 14, 2006 Control Panel, Automatic Updates Icon, Uncheck the box "Keep computer up to date", click apply.
