drowssap Posted July 19, 2006 Report Share Posted July 19, 2006 having an issue with 1 computer. They are running Adobe 7, and they need to go to a web site to look at flood damage reports for homes. When they click on print report, it pops up another window, and it should start up Adobe and display the report. It ends up blowing up with an error in msvcr71.dll. My guess is that I will have to reinstall Adobe, but I really haven't found anything on errors with this file, and it being associated with Adobe. Also if I go to their temporary internet files, I can't run the report from there, but if I make a copy to the desktop.....no problems, can see it and do anything. Any help with this is appreciated. I have seen that web site where you can download dll's, but there are 5 or 6 on the OS. My guess it's the system32 directory one, but I just don't have that exact information. cozofdeath Posted July 25, 2006 Report Share Posted July 25, 2006 Try doing a file search for msvcr71.dll. You should come up with many results, all with the save filesize and version info. Copy one of them and put it into your main adobe reader directory. I think the directory is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\ReaderIf that doesn't help you, you could try a repair. To do that click on the adobe reader installer. If you don't know where it is its probably in your Adobe directory here C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Setup Files\RdrBig\ENUIf will give you the options of uninstalling or repairing. drowssap Posted July 26, 2006 Author Report Share Posted July 26, 2006 found the solution. Oddly enough, it had to do with version 7.0.8. I put her to version 7.0.7, and it works fine now.
