erdsiger
Hi!I'm now using Windows XP SP1 and SuSE Linux 10.1. On my Windows I've SP1, but I want to setup a program which requires SP2. So I decided I will install it. But my bootloader is Linux, because Windows doesn't support Linux. My question is: If I install SP2, this pack won't overwrite the loader? If SP2 overwrite it, I won't be able to use Linux. What do you think about this?
cozofdeath
No, it shouldn't do anything to your bootloader.
Alan2273
If you do have any problems here is a solution.type: grubto start grub shelltype: find /boot/grub/stage1to find the boot partition, use output of this command as input to the next onetype: root (hd0,6)to tell grub where the boot partition is. Note: substitute (hd0,6) with output of previous commandtype: setup (hd0)to install GRUB on MBR of hd0type: quit
