KidTDragon Posted July 25, 2006 Report Share Posted July 25, 2006 My sister's laptop has been acting funny, so I decided to yank out the hard drive and back up her files on my comp via a USB enclosure before I start tinkering and possibly losing her files. The hook-up seems fine, I can see the hard drive, but when I try to move/copy/open the C:\Documents and Settings\Sister's Name folder, I keep getting an error message saying that this particular folder is inaccessible; access is denied. I'm assuming it's because she had her laptop/user name password-protected. How can I gain access to this one folder while her hard drive is connected to my computer? Every time I try, I get the option to "delete the restoration file and continue" (??) or "start Windows normally". The second option just restarts the laptop and brings me back to that screen, and I don't want to try the first option without backing stuff up first.
