Transferring Files from a hard drive to another?

Recommended Posts

Hello folks,

I bought myself a new computer this Monday as a result of thunder. The old computer works but there are certain things on it that doesn’t work. On my old computer I have files that I would like to transfer to my new computer. The only problem is that I can’t transfer through burned DVD’s because the files are too big to burn. What is the easiest way to do? Is it to assemble it beside the boot drive in the computer as cable select and then transfer them to the boot drive?

Or do you have better suggestions?

I really want to have an extra hard drive in my new computer. The extra hard drive on my old computer is not a boot drive, just an extra hard drive. The space is 160 GB and it would be crazy not to use such a drive. I was just wondering if it is any troubles assemble it in my new computer.

My new computer is a Fujitsu/Siemens Scaleo P

The old extra hard drive I have is a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 Plus Ultra ATA. 160 GB

Do you see any difficulties assemble it in the Fujitsu computer? If not, do I put both drives as cable select and put the boot drive furthest away on the IDE-cable and the extra hard drive on the intermediate connection.
