Mark Belfour
Hello folks,I bought myself a new computer this Monday as a result of thunder. The old computer works but there are certain things on it that doesn’t work. On my old computer I have files that I would like to transfer to my new computer. The only problem is that I can’t transfer through burned DVD’s because the files are too big to burn. What is the easiest way to do? Is it to assemble it beside the boot drive in the computer as cable select and then transfer them to the boot drive?Or do you have better suggestions?Mark
-pops-
Check in your computer's Help & Support for Files & Settings Transfer Wizard. This should be able to do what you want.
r4may
You could always Backup the files on DVD ( this allows dvd spanning) and restore them to your new system, using something like ghost which allows you to restore individual files if you wish. Mark Belfour
Thanks for the info. But is it possible to backup files on DVD's that are over 11 GB. In that case, where can I find this Ghost program?Mark
Mark Belfour
I really want to have an extra hard drive in my new computer. The extra hard drive on my old computer is not a boot drive, just an extra hard drive. The space is 160 GB and it would be crazy not to use such a drive. I was just wondering if it is any troubles assemble it in my new computer. My new computer is a Fujitsu/Siemens Scaleo P http://www.fujitsu-siemens.se/Resources/30/463260357.pdfThe old extra hard drive I have is a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 Plus Ultra ATA. 160 GBDo you see any difficulties assemble it in the Fujitsu computer? If not, do I put both drives as cable select and put the boot drive furthest away on the IDE-cable and the extra hard drive on the intermediate connection.
