Help with Flash Player

Recommended Posts

Okay, I'm having problem with flash player, I've got version 9 of flash player and the problem is; on some websites with flash movies it loads and on some other sites it doesnt load.

Why does that happen? And is there away to fix the problem?

If someone could help it would be appreciated.

There is one particular site which is posted as a link regularly on the forum, showing movies, some very funny, this morning of George Gallagher. If I have not visited it for several days it always informs me that I either have Flash switched off or an old copy. It tells me to click on the link and install the latest version, this NEVER works however. I have to go to Control panel and uninstall Adobe Flash Player activ X, and then click on their link and download it again. I get no problems with other sites, only this one.

Hello, and welcome to the Windows Forum.

Could you give us some examples of websites where the flash content doesn't play correctly? It may be the problem of the website, not your flash player.

Also, what web browser do you use?

Thanks for replying.

It dosnt work on GoogleVideo- link

It also doesnt work on YouTube (which you have to use flash)- link

There is also someother sites it doesnt work on either. :(

Go to http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/ and verify your Flash Player installation.

Both Google video and Youtube should work correctly with Flash Player 8 or 9.

One more thing I should mention: there are two different Flash Player installers - one is for Internet Explorer, and one for all other browsers. If you installed FP on Firefox, then you can't use it on IE without installing it there too.

I'm pretty sure I've installed both one For IE and the one for all explorers.

This site doesnt work on FF but it loads but doesnt play on IE?

Hmm, then something is wrong on your side; the site loads and plays perfectly find for me on both FF and IE.

Does it show your version number (9,0,16,0) ?

Do you have Shockwave Player (10) installed? Maybe it is also required...?

Either way, I would try to reinstall Flash Player again on both FF & IE.

Yes. When i right click on the unloaded movie this is what pops up "Movie not loaded" and when the movie loads on some sites right click on movie and it has the flash site link and displays flash 9 which is my version.

Yep I've got Shockwave 10.
