Boditza Posted August 12, 2006 Report Share Posted August 12, 2006 I recently splitted my hdd into 2 partitions. It was all fat 32 but now i have the c fat and d ntfs. I aplited them little by little, because i didn't had where to back up, using partition magic. When the c was almost at the right size it asked me to make a folder on d where he could move the data, i entered the name and when i opened it on d it says: D:\* is not accesible, acess denied. I tryed to elete but it says it is being used, tryed in safe mode but still nothing :(. Do you know any other way i can get rid ov it coz i can't even make it hidden :(. Here's the trick: Reboot your PC to safe mode (by hitting F8 while rebooting and selecting pure Safe Mode from the menu - without any command prompts or networking) and then delete the folder. If stubborn Windows still argues with you, enter the Task Manager, quit almost all the currently running processes (not the 'explorer.exe' and almost anything including 'win') and try again. Try googling for cmd commands, or just try the /? in cmd prompt for answers (ie 'dir /?' or just plain 'help' will do it). A little self-strain is only preferable. Just open your task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del), go to the processes tab, find explorer.exe and end the task. Everything will disappear and you will be left with just the task manager open. Go to the Applications tab and click New Task and type cmd. After the command prompt pops up type your delete command. When the file is gone start a New Task again but start the explorer.exe task. Its really very simple and I haven't had it not work yet. I've used unlocker programs only to find everything locked to explorer, so I figured why not just shutdown explorer since the unlocker wouldn't.
